Two weeks and a new competition. The Giro d’Italia; the quest for the Maglia Rosa. Three weeks, 21 stages and only one team selection. We’ve decided to play this competition as ‘purists’ - no transfers during the race…
No idea who’s even going to survive three weeks, let alone win it, win the most stages, win the king of the mountains jersey etc. Too many variables.
So my team selection. Headed up by Geraint Thomas, Damiano Cunego and Thor Hushovd. With Daniele Bennati as my sprinter. Cavendish seemed a little lacking in miles so far this season and at 40 credits an expensive risk.
The Domestiques had to include Andrea Guardini and the rest were chosen to make up the numbers, but with a view to team selections and keeping my quota of Italian riders up. Finally, Angelo Pagani, as an Italian from a wildcard entry team should have a lot to prove…
